| Tiivistelmä: | This article identifies organizations (hereafter as: orgs.) in industries (here as: inds.) outside 'high technology' that are early adopters of the concept. It is shown that many Open Innovation (as: OI) concepts are already in use in a wide range of inds. Documented are practices that seem to assist orgs. adopting these concepts. It is found that OI is not by the fact itself a recipe for outsourcing R&D. It is concluded that OI has utility as a paradigm for industrial innovation beyond high tech to more traditional and mature industries. |
