| Tiivistelmä: | In 1999, the national information department has completely started the "Project for Governments Surfing on Webs". It is planned that by 2000, 80 percent of ministries and commissions at the national level and local governments at various levels will set up websites on China Public Multi-Media Communication Network (163/169 networks). The most direct result is the initiation of information collection, publication and consultation services. By means of network, the speed of transmitting information is accelerated and the degree of sharing information is deepened. Information consulting industry brought by governments' surfing on webs will quickly expand to 15 to 20 billion yuan annually. Meanwhile, government's large-scale surfing on webs will provide huge market for software and hardware firms and network operators. |
