Tiivistelmä:Guidelines for the personnel manager to develop a separation package are given. The reasons of termination can be: poor performance,personality conflict, incompatible management philosophy, termination resulting from a staff reduction program. After determining the termination reason,the following items should be considered: length of service; position and salary level; position in community; company philosophy; past practice; liability issues,such as age discrimination. Other items which may or may not included in a separation package are listed.
