| Tiivistelmä: | Unfortunately, workplace computers constitute a pure island solution all too frequently in the office sector. It is demonstrated that network integration would be much more efficient. Some advantages of integrating personal computer workstations into a local area network are shown. The technical elements and working procedures of a typical workstation are sketched. The components of a computer network are identified. A case example is provided for a department-oriented local network. The new performance potentials resulting from the integration are explained. |
