| Tiivistelmä: | The painful process and wrenching effects of corporate reorganization are examined. Involuntary "career change" as a consequence of restructuring is characterized. For, truth to tell, "career change" is a euphemism for being unemployed, out of work, laid off , on the street etc. Some personal experiences of those who were formerly compelled to search for a new job or new career path are described. The role of an outplacement service is highlighted. It is shown how an outplacement counsellor works. America's corporate merger mania has debilitating economic and psychological impact, it generates upheaval, frustration and disillusionment. |
