| Tiivistelmä: | The problem of an efficient use of up-to-date information and communication technology is examined. Particularly, the problem of shortage in information necessary to support managerial decision making is addressed. The information needs of resource planning and production control are identified and analyzed. Arguments are presented, that controlling of information and effectively in this field. Strategic controlling concepts can be employed communication technology as a tool of coordination is characterized. Its contribution to profitability is demonstrated. A case study is provided showing how fragmented computer applications can be replaced by an integrated Management Information System. |
