| Tiivistelmä: | Since the late seventies attempts to change the face of the public sctor are in evidence in a host of countries around the globe. Apparently, the virtues of market economics are gaining wider recognition. People the world over are beginning to realize that state interventionism is not only unnecessary, but may be counter-productive as well. While economists seem to agree that the role of the government in promoting efficiency, equity and stability can hardly be denied, there appears to be a growing concern over unwarranted state intervention. |
