| Tiivistelmä: | In this article, starting from an analysis of the contributions to resource-based, competence-based and evolutionary theories which have focused on the internal determinants of firms' diversification, a framework for interpreting the diversification process is presented. A classification is proposed for different patterns of diversification, based on the specific resources and capabilities which are exploited by firms through diversification. |
