| Tiivistelmä: | This report covers the market for disposable nappies including sales of trainer pants for toddlers. In common with other babycare products, sales of disposable nappies are clearly related in a broad sense to trends in the birth rate. In 1996 market was valued at 479 mn pounds with volume sales standing at 3.15 bn units. While the market rose by 29% in value and by 11% in volume between 1990 and 1996, growth rates have slowed sincw 1994 as the rise in birth the rate has been reserved. Projections suggest a continuing decline in the UK birth rate which will restrict volume growth. |
