| Tiivistelmä: | The policy of the European Community (EC) on State aid is in the process of evolution. New rules are being proposed by the Commission, which has recently expressed its concern at the large amounts of aid still being offered by central and regional governments in the Member States. This is an opportune moment to take stock of EC practice and evaluate EC rules. The purpose of this article is to attempt to make such an evaluation by asking whether the rules promote economic efficiency. |
