Tiivistelmä:The effects of competition on the adoption of technological innovations by organizations are discussed. Literature about the topic is reviewed. A research project was conducted to test a propositional inventory pertaining to the diffusion of high technology innovations. Research objectives are listed, research conceptualization is described. Variables of competitive environment are defined. Characteristics of organizational behaviour are analysed. Research methdology is described. Results are summarized in a binomial choice model, results of the multinomial analysis are reported. Proposals are presented for future research, managerial implications are summarized.
