| Tiivistelmä: | The introduction of general management and new information systems have been major features of the UK National Health Service scene. Both innovations required the development of a competence in general management. They required the development of individuals who would be able to function as general managers, and they also required the development of the organization so that general management could take place effectively within it. A model in Wessex Regional Health Authority is offered. |
