Tiivistelmä:Certain elements of the LBO (leveraged buyout), sometimes referred to as taking a corporation private, are discussed. The company's management and other private investors buy out all the other shareholders, almost entirely with borrowed funds. The question arises, why would any manager be interested in being involved in an LBO? It is pointed out that there are some controversies about leveraged buyout. They include trading on inside information for a few thousand shares which is in violation of federal securities law. Another issue is that some companies are taken private and then, they are brought public again at an increase in value.
