| Tiivistelmä: | The process of formulating a strategic plan is as crucial to its ultimate success as the plan itself. Based on statistical analysis of responses from executives of 50 large corporations, five guidelines are recommended to follow in designing and implementing a strategic plan. These results of the research are discussed under seven points as follows: 1.formalization the planning process; 2. managers' involvement; 3. managers' responsibility; 4. action plans for different functional areas; 5. the chief planning executive's role; 6. regular reviews of the plan; 7.such elements of the plan as company's mission, performance goals and objectives, competitive strategy, functional policies etc. |
