| Tiivistelmä: | The importance of arrangements to maintain the pre-retirement standard of living is emphasized. Defined benefit plan,the most prevalent form of retirement plan in American industry,is described. Defined contribution plans are driven by contributions. This contribution is allocated annually to the participant's account and the account accrues investment earnings. Thrift plans are defined contribution plans that guarantee an employer contribution as a percentage of the employee contribution. Stock purchase plans,employee stock ownership plans and payroll-based stock ownership plans, profit-sharing plans,and some combination pension plans are presented in details. |
