| Tiivistelmä: | The type of business firms and managers most likely to emerge in the 21st century is predicted. Forecasts are developed by examining long-term patterns in human history and exploiting the analogy between the Industrial and Information Revolutions. Assumptions used to forecast are described. Strong similarities and differences are pointed out between the two revolutions. Trends in business life expected to continue towards the 21st century are examined. Implications for the various service industries are discussed. Problem-solving, learning, and creativity are described as critical managerial skills in the future. Possible forecasting mistakes are mentoioned. |
