Tiivistelmä: | The study focuses on the attitudes of consumers in an industrailizing country, India. A high level of consumer discontent and widespread buyer dissatisfaction across product groups, consumer segments and nationalities was found. A second objective was to gain additional insights into the consumerism life cycle concept, which suggests that consumers' opinions follow a life cycle pattern reflecting the stage of development of national consumer movements. To this end, the patterns of responses of the sample of consumers surveyed in India are compared with those of consumers from six other industrialized countries reported by other authors. |
