Tiivistelmä:The results of an examination of all full-length articles published in regular issues of the ECONOMIC JOURNAL between 1959 and 1990 are reported. The focus of the study is articles which use empirical microeconomic information /micro data, in the current jargon/. Those papers were noted which used micro data, namely, non-aggregated data on the actions of microeconomic agents like firms, workers, consumers, unions etc. The main kinds of relevant data were: case studies done by the authors, small sample surveys or experiments, computerised survey data sets not collected by the authors. The analysis of these articles is reported. It was found, for example, that thirty years ago 3, now 20 percent contained microeconomic data.
