| Tiivistelmä: | The theory of nonlinear dynamical systems has been an unfamiliar tool for economists. A group of scholars looked at economic fluctuations under the hypothesis that a relevant portion of them can be explained as a deterministic phenomenon, endogenously generated by market forces, technologies, profits and cost functions. The purpose here is to illustrate the fact that nonlinear dynamical systems play an increasing role in the qualitative analysis of economics processes arising in management science and operations research. What has chaos theory to offer? |
