Tiivistelmä:The author consider life and work of Harry G. Johnson. The paper covers the following subjects: Samuelson on Harry, the Full Achiever, Rosenbluth on Harry, the Workaholic Student and Radical, Lipsey on Harry as a Mentor of Young Economists, Duesenberry on Harry Johnson's Ph.D. Dissertation, A. Memories of Harry on the Chicago Faculty, Simpson on How Harry Worked, Corden on Harry's View of the Scientific Enterprise. The author states that a limitation of Harry's analysis was that it explicitly ignored the implications of financial capital flows, and as a consequence, the full power of his careful distinction between portfolio adjustments and long run flow adjustments was not immediately apparent. The paper provides a great number of references on this subject.
