Tiivistelmä:This article examines voluntary employee turnover and tests three predictors presented in the theory of planned behaviour. It was explored whether variables such as job satisfaction, age, tenure, and organizational commitment accounted for variance in turnover intentions and voluntary turnover. In the longitudinal study 296 respondents from the Royal Netherlands Navy completed a questionnaire. The results indicated that behavioral intentions were the best predictor of turnover. After excluding impact of the predictors from the theory, job satisfaction and tenure accounted for notable proportion of the variance in intentions.
