Tiivistelmä:The view is supported that a pluralist or contingency-based approach to methodology-choice is the only intellectually tenable basis for management science consulting. If appropriate standards are to be met, it must be assumed that a consultant is competent to adopt whatever approach to intervention, or methodology, is required, taking into account also the complexity or otherwise of the situation. A consultant should be sufficiently impartial that he could make a reasonable assessment of the situation, which clearly affects the ethics of the consultant's behaviour towards conflicting interests in the organization.
