Tiivistelmä:Game-theoretic methods have permeated economic analysis to a great extent. The theory has been applied to a range of theoretical fields, has been the driving force behind the emergence of the theory of auctions and contracts, and has been essential to the rise of experimental economics. Beyond economics, the adoption of the "game" metaphor has changed the construction of theory in political science and evolutionary biology. The obvious landmark was the appearance, 50 years ago, of von Neumann and Morgenstern's Theory of Games and Economic Behavior.
