| Tiivistelmä: | Three case studies are presented as illustrations of how some organizations have managed the introduction of new information technology in the office. An evolutionary model is offered describing four broad approaches to office automation: technology,application, person and office centered projects. The lessons provided by the case studies are summarized under five headings: cost/ benefits,pilots,convergence,user involvement and management support. Attention is called to the fact that the economic impact of office automation may be modest,and on the company revenue rather than cost line. |
