Tiivistelmä:In executive education, every program, seminar, or course must offer a worthwhile approach to the art and science of management. Arguments are provided that just as there are good reasons for courses in marketing or finance, so there are good reasons for courses in the liberal arts; they also meet practical needs. The power of authentic liberal arts courses is always latent, always potential. Several examples of distinctively humanities-based analysis are presented, including an introductory study of values. Only executives who have practiced thinking about values, who understand the full range of options, will make fully informed decisions. The value of ethics courses is considered. The possible returns are assessed.
