| Tiivistelmä: | The provision of data processing equipment for workplaces in offices as well as the communication deficit in the company administration and management necessitate the adoption of new principles for office planning requirements. Moreover, the individualization of the workplace is becoming increasingly important. How an office can be an island for creative people? The characteristics of an "intelligent building" are briefly reviewed. The ways of improving the office workers' satisfaction are dealt with. The design aspects of office furniture are highlighted. Some principles of ergonomics are put forward and their implementation in office planning is suggested. |
