Tiivistelmä:This paper examines the motives for individuals' decisions of taking on international work assignments, and the purpose of the article is to map the factors that affect individuals' decisions on accepting international assignments from a mutual dependency perspective. in the analysis, individual and organizational views are contrasted and qualitative and quantitative research methods applied. The findings of the study suggest a gap between individual and corporate perspectives on international assignments. The results reveal that financial necessities and various family factors are important for individuals making decisions on taking on international assignments, but these factors are often underestimated on the organizational level.
