| Tiivistelmä: | Lack of clarity about what 'valuable' means is one of the reasons why the resource-based view is difficult to operationalize. This paper examines the impediments to arriving at a monetary valuation of a resource. It is suggested how resources could be identified within a firm, given this paper's clarification of 'valuable'. An approach is proposed to firm resource identification focusing on the impact of resources on unit margin. The issue of competitive disadvantages is also addressed. |
