Tiivistelmä:This paper aims to 1. establish whether so called category captain (CC) arrangements (here as: args.) exist in category management (CM) collaborations btw. Finnish retail chains and manufacturers, and to 2. investigate the effects of any such args. from the CC.s' perspective and those excluded from CM decision making (as: d-m). Using survey data of a sample of Finnish suppliers it is found among others that large suppliers relatively strongly control the d-m. as to CM, likely acting as CC in CM collaboration (as: coll). In contrast, small suppliers possess weak control in CM d-m., easily excluded from CM coll. The effects of CC args. are perceived more positively among suppliers having influence in d-m. regarding coll. than among those excluded from such d-m.
