| Tiivistelmä: | The purpose of the paper is to evaluate how total and asymmetric specific asset investments (total SAI and asymmetric SAI) affect commitment, trust and conflict in the relationship between supplier and buyer. The authors review prior literature and conduct a survey of listed supply chain organizations. The data is analyzed with covariance structure analysis and the findings reveal that total SAI has a positive relation with trust and commitment whereas asymmetric SAI correlates negatively with trust but positively with conflict. The results of the study indicate that companies should increase the magnitude of specific asset investments to strengthen their supply chain relationships. |
