| Tiivistelmä: | The paper is a summary of research in sign theory in the Middle Ages or "medieval semiotics" by a group of scholars working from a variety of specialized research interest under the banner of "Medieval Semiotic Studies". The primary importance of semiotics as the tool with which to demythologize scholarly practice seems highly likely to be the most effective approach to a genuinely semiotic investigation of medieval studies and the Middle Ages. |
