| Tiivistelmä: | This article provides an in-depth understanding of the methodologies which are being used to design intelligent decision support systems (IDSS) and identifies the extent to which the methodologies support the design of IDSSs. The results of the surveys indicate that a significant proportion of IDSS developers are using informal design and reuse methodologies, and that a wide variety of formal design methodologies are being used around the world to build certain components of IDSSs. The design methodologies surveyed are very different in nature. The design methodologies range from small, ad hoc and informal methodologies to large and very formal methodologies. |
