| Tiivistelmä: | This article introduces a theory of corporate announcement based on the new concept of an announcement option which has not yet been identified as an independently valuable real option de-coupled from strategy implementation. The article conceptualises corporate announcements as real options, thereby providing a framework and concentrating on a methodology for precisely valuing announcements. The case of Prudential plc's announcements regarding its internet venture Egg is analysed to illustrate the concepts. |
