| Tiivistelmä: | This article reviews the relation between tourism and nation-building for developing countries and socialist societies in transition. The authors used Cuba as a case study to find out how tourism affects national and social justice agendas. The study is based on three trips to Cuba and a number of interviews there. The Cuba example shows how tourism can lead to the two-faced situation: at the same time open up opportunities to economic growth and prevent nation-building goals. |
