| Tiivistelmä: | This study aims to construct competence (hereafter as: cmp.) maps for the information service (IS) industry. A pool of cmp. items is defined and a questionnaire is developed for field survey. Using data gathered from the IS companies in Taiwan, a series of factor analyses with item filtration are performed, resulting in a six-factor solution incl. Cognition, Management I (organizing, leading, and controlling), Management II (planning), Technology Infrastructure, Application Systems, and Clerical Processing as the cmp. sets. The factor-based scales were created to represent the derived cmp. sets, the pairwise correlations btw. these scales were calculated, and the cmp. maps were built accordingly. The results of the study may be helpful to the internal (e.g. training, education etc.) and the external (e.g. recruitment) developments of HR in IS companies. |
