| Tiivistelmä: | The main purpose of this paper is to show the role of sunk costs as entry barriers for newcomers and their influence on efficiency. Sunk costs by being entry barriers for newcomers are at the same time exit barriers for established firms. They protect them from newcomers and such a natural barrier will be effective even if the established firms are producing inefficiently. |
