| Tiivistelmä: | The growth of Russia's trade with China began to slow down obviously in the third quarter of 1996. In the first half of 1997, export stopped growing and import declined at a speed of 7%. It is attributed to the following: Russia's trade with China deviates from the trends of its economic development.Its adjustment of tariff affects its import from China. The demand of Russia on the import of food is more strict. There are some changes in supply and demand relationship in Russian consumer good market, where the share of Chinese goods have decreased. The foreign trade enterprises' ability of payment is weakening while the rate of breaking a contract is rising. Besides, there are a serial of problems arising from the transformation of foreign trade system in Russia. To solve them, the people to people trade should be strengthened. |
