| Tiivistelmä: | In this paper, confirmed is the importance of bank performance to the credit lending channel of monetary policy in the EMU countries, and especially in Portugal. The main innovations are: (i) the use of macro and microeconomic statistical data, (ii) the introduction of three calculated bank-performance indicators into an adaptation of the Bernanke and Binder model, (iii) the use of panel data estimations etc. |
