| Tiivistelmä: | A survey of three firms in mechanics that acquired numerically controlled machine-tools is described. It provides an analysis of the process through which various actors in the firms learn to acquire the new technology. This is achieved mainly by adaptation to changes in the market and to the new ways of industrializing products. There are examined the consequences of these innovations on the structures of organization, employment and qualification and also on the types of management and of social regulation. A hypothesis is formulated that, through these adaptations, a new model of the firm is emerging. |
