| Tiivistelmä: | The paper predicts that the steel output in 2000 will be 0.12 billion tons. In line with present situation of steel and iron energy consumption and analysis of energy-saving potential, and technologies and energy-saving measures that will possibly be taken, the paper predicts that the energy consumption in steel and iron production in 2000 will be lowered to 36 million tons of coal. And energy consumption of one ton of steel will be dropped from 1.75 ton to 1.45 ton. |
