| Tiivistelmä: | In February 1990 the third programme on energy research and technologies was approved by the Federal cabinet. The main objective with introducing the programme is to provide technical options to reduce greenhouse emissions and environmental impacts to a level tolerable for the future. Much attention is paid in the programme on renewables and fusion energy; however, the largest financial share is still allocated to nuclear energy, although it is considerable reduced compared to the past. Energy conservation is still regarded as very important despite the fact, that there is a broad base of expertise available due to past R&D efforts. |
