| Tiivistelmä: | This article studies equity prices of a sample of companies favored under Bush or Gore platforms during the 2000 U.S. Presidential Election. The relationship between company-specific equity returns and the probability of a Bush victory is examined to establish whether platforms are capitalized into equity prices. The author finds that platforms are capitalized in equities especially in the most sensitive sectors, including tobacco and energy. |
