| Tiivistelmä: | Much of the research to date dealing with the job shop has focused on dispatching efficiency. However, with the advent of such recent developments as JIT, TQM and TPM with their emphasis on the identification, reduction, and control of system variances, the importance of dispatching has come under question. Using a simulations of a simple job shop, this study compares the relative effectiveness of dispatching and variance control. |
