| Tiivistelmä: | The objective of this article is to assess the impact of EU level approach to gender equality on the realities of equal opportunities policies at the member state level. It draws primarily on the work of the EC's gender and employment expert group who have provided detailed country-level assessments of the commitment to gender equality within the employment strategy from a gender perspective. The findings from these assessments have been included in synthesis reports available on the web, alongside the reports by the national experts. However, before proceeding to an analysis of actual changes in policies the authors need first to consider some problems of definitions, meanings and implementation. |
