| Tiivistelmä: | In this article, the author studies the effects of share repurchases to the companys operating performance and the reaction of the capital markets. The results of the study provide evidence that operating performance improves after the announcement of an open share repurchase program. In addition, the capital markets respond favorably to earnings announcements after the repurchase program announcements. |
