| Tiivistelmä: | Multinational corporations are striving to manage their worldwide operations in more enlightened ways than in the past. The need of effective use of information technology for this purpose is emphasized. Special attention is paid to information technology tools and standards, such as electronic data interchange (EDI) and structured query language (SQL), and enterprisewide alliances. EDI describes a standardized way of using computers to transmit and receive business documents, such as purchase orders. SQL, on the other hand, is a standard means of accessing database management systems that are shared by different architectures. Internal and external alliances help to create a unified way in using computers effectively. |
