| Tiivistelmä: | The role of game theory as practise of strategy design in health care management Recently, American consultants have discovered game theory not only for steeering but also for reducing management complexity. This is not surprising, because game theory focusses on understanding strategic behavior. When two or more managers interact strategically, each manager's decision depends on what his opponents expect the others to do. In reality, acting strategically in health care management, especially in hospital management, means to understand the benefits of thinking systematically about competition and cooperation. The tool box for getting one's thinking straight is game theory. Therefore game theory can be useful for hospital managers to get better performance when faced with important decisions of strategy. |
