| Tiivistelmä: | The paper analyzes two aspects of Rappaport´s theory of shareholder value maximization. First: is shareholder value maximization a generally accepted goal in the theory of the firm? Second: is maximization of the sum of the values of the divisions in a multi-product firm consistent with shareholder value maximization? It is shown that in the dynamic theory of the firm shareholder value maximization is generally accepted. |
