Tiivistelmä: | This paper identifies two broad dimensions which diffrentiate the principal models of the adoption process: the strenght of the evidence regarding an innovation's efficacy and the extent of increasing returns. It is suggested that differences across these dimensions map to four models of the adoption/diffusion process prominent in the literature. The authors analyze the diffusion patterns of six well-studied innovations in terms of these variables, and discuss which models seem to fit them best. |
