Tiivistelmä:The purpose of the study is to explore the relationship between cognitive style and strategic choices made by top executives. Cognitive style is defined in terms of preferred ways of making choices and taking action to implement these choices, postulating that both preferred-choice rationales and implementation tactics influence executive action. Scenarios were constructed to describe eight capacity-expansion decisions. After the examination of 137 top executives, decision style was found to be highly significant factor in explaining the adoptability and perceived risk for strategic decisions.
